GOT QUESTIONS?
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the legal tint limit in WA?
Passenger vehicles can have 35% VLT on front side windows, while rear and back windows can be darker at 20%. Always check current government regulations for your state.
How long before I can roll my windows down?
Wait at least 48 hours after installation to allow the adhesive to fully cure. Rolling windows down earlier can cause the film to move or peel, voiding your warranty.
How long does window tint take to install?
Most standard car tints take 1.5–3 hours depending on the number of windows, film type and vehicle complexity.
Will tint bubble or peel over time?
With quality film and professional installation, bubbling and peeling shouldn't happen. At Central Tinting our premium films include a lifetime warranty against bubbling and peeling.
Does tint block UV rays?
Yes — our SolarGard VTX Pro Ceramic film blocks up to 99% of harmful UV rays, helping protect your skin and interior from damage.
Can window tint keep my car cooler?
Absolutely — ceramic films block a significant amount of heat, reducing the need for air conditioning. The biggest difference is felt while driving when direct sunlight is blocked by the film.
Does window tint go on the outside or inside?
Window tint is applied on the inside to protect it from the elements. In rare cases for residential or commercial use, exterior film is available.
How long will my window tint last?
High-quality ceramic films can last 10+ years when installed and cared for properly. Our premium films include a lifetime warranty against fading.
What's the difference between Ceramic, Carbon, Dyed and Metallised film?
-
Ceramic: Top-of-the-line — blocks the most heat & UV, no signal interference, crystal-clear.
-
Carbon: Strong, fade-resistant, great heat rejection, matte look, no signal issues.
-
Dyed: Budget-friendly, good privacy & style, less heat protection, can fade sooner.
-
Metallised: Reflective look, solid heat rejection, but can interfere with GPS/radio signals.
Can I tint my windscreen?
In WA you are only allowed a visor strip along the top — usually about 10% of the window or to the Australian standard mark. No film is allowed to cover the entirety of the windscreen by law.
